Social Skills Groups
Opportunities to connect in a supportive setting
Social skills groups offer guided practice with peers through games, play, and shared activities. We choose goals that support meaningful participation, communication, and confidence.
Skills we may practice
Depending on the group, activities may support joining play, sharing materials, taking turns, asking questions, continuing conversations, understanding different perspectives, solving everyday social problems, and requesting space or help.
We respect different communication styles. A child can participate through speech, gestures, pictures, or their established communication device. Goals focus on useful interaction and self-advocacy rather than requiring eye contact or hiding harmless autistic traits.

Thoughtful group placement
We consider age, interests, communication, support needs, and learning goals before recommending placement. A conversation or assessment may be needed to determine whether a group can offer appropriate support.
Group dates, size, location, staffing, fees, and availability are confirmed before enrolment. Contact us for upcoming options.

Practice beyond the group
We can share ideas for practicing relevant skills during family activities and other familiar routines. With consent, we may coordinate with professionals supporting the child to help skills carry over into everyday settings.

Is a group the right next step
Some children benefit from individual teaching before joining a group, while others can begin with supported peer activities. We discuss options based on the child's needs and your priorities.
